Our Elder Helpline can provide you with information and referral assistance on programs and services available to meet your needs or the needs of your elderly loved ones, including Long Term Care and other home-based services. Our staff pride themselves on being thorough, helpful and friendly.
Medicare Help
Our specially-trained SHINE volunteers can assist you with your Medicare, Medicaid, prescription drug and health insurance questions by providing information, comparing policies and helping with claims and appeals. We’re here to help!
Elder Abuse Prevention
We work directly with state and community partners to prevent the abuse, neglect and exploitation of seniors.

Health & Wellness
We offer a number of free health and wellness courses including Tai Chi, Matter of Balance, Living Healthy , Diabetes Empowerment Education Program, Living Healthy in Your Community. Learn what you can do to keep yourself healthy and strong.
Caregiver Support
If you are a caregiver supporting a loved one who is age 60 or older and you reside in Hillsborough, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee, or Polk County, TCARE’s customized support is available to help guide you through your caregiving journey and reduce caregiver burnout.
Helpful New Offerings
Senior Connection Center has teamed up with several senior-friendly companies to offer helpful and easy-to-use tools designed especially for older adults. Options include online classes, robotic pets and Alexa/Ring Doorbell, all at no cost to you.

Now is the time to nominate an amazing senior for a Salt & Pepper Outstanding Senior Award. Who is eligible? Any individual, age 60 or older, who resides in Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Highlands or Hardee County and who is nominated by a member of the community based on the criteria listed in the following categories: Community Service & Volunteerism, Business & Entrepreneurship, Health & Wellness, and Arts & Entertainment. Philanthropist of the year must be 60 or older and may reside outside Senior Connection Center’s service area if their philanthropic activities have a local focus. Five winners will be selected and awards will be presented at the Rise & Shine Breakfast & Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
